Step-1 Get Manual:

As we advise this time and again, getting the manual for your gas stove in hand. It’ll help you save time and effort as your gas stove’s model may have different functioning.

Step-2 Disconnecting the power:

Disconnect the power from your gas stove and make sure that its gas supply valve has been turned ‘off’.

Step-3 Disassemble Gas stove:

Take off the gas stove grates, burner’s caps, burner heads and burners.

Now, remove the burner base from the gas stove. You can pull it up with your hands easily.

However, if you cannot, then screw driver can be helpful here. Some gas stoves have screws, holding their burner bases. Just find the little screw at the bottom and remove it.

You should be careful while pulling out the burner base as the wires are attached to it. So, you are prone to damaging the wires

Step-4 Rub with Cotton Bud & alcohol:

Now get a q-tip (a cotton wool bud) and alcohol.

After that, rub the entire igniter area as well as the burner base alongwith it so that you cover the whole area.

You can use acetone, spirit or a fine grit sandpaper too. But the process remains same and you have to cover the whole area as stated above.

Whatever you use just be careful that you won’t hurt the igniter.

Step-5 Cleaning Burner Cap:

The debris, moisture from water or grease does also comes in contact with the burner caps and it is necessary for you to clean them too.

Clean them with cotton bud and alcohol and cover the whole area just as in step-4.

Again, you can also use acetone, spirit or a fine grit sandpaper here too, it’s your choice.

Step-6- Wait a while:

After going through this whole process, the next step is patience.

Means you should leave the burner caps, igniter and burner base open, overnight, so that the moisture may get evaporated from it.

Because there are so many things that can go wrong and it is better for you to avoid them.

Step-7: Testing:

Now reassemble everything on your gas stove and turn on the power and gas supply. After that turn on the control knob to see if the clicking sound still appears or not.

Well the chances are that your gas stove won’t click now. But if it does, then it means there is a issue pertaining to inside of gas stove or control knobs require replacement. Then what?

Then you should call professionals.

Why gas stove keep on clicking?
